Legislative Alert!
Maryland House Bill 1628
Influential members of the General Assembly have introduced House Bill 1628. This legislation would broaden the State’s sales tax to include professional services such as those provided by engineers, architects, accountants and attorneys. This sales tax on labor will put our membership at a competitive disadvantage, place a burden on small firms in particular and result in higher costs to some clients.
A hearing is scheduled in the House Ways & Means (W&M) Committee on Monday, March 2, 2020, so now is the time to ensure that your voice is heard.
